Click here to view special instructions to military and overseas voters for congressional elections. Provisional voting in Louisiana applies only to federal races for President, U.S. Senate and U.S. Congress. It provides a mechanism that allows voters whose name does not appear on the poll list a way to vote for the federal offices in primary and general elections. The provisional voter in most instances may not be eligible to vote on local issues. The provisional ballot will be part of the results determination by the parish Board of Election Supervisors and voters are furnished with a toll free number to call to find out iof their ballot was counted by the board. For information on your current polling place, a map to your polling place and a sample ballot go to www.sos.louisiana.gov and click on "Poll Locator." Enter your name as registered and your date of birth to obatin your registration information.
