ADVICE to CANDIDATES in the Fall Elections…
1) Qualifying information and questions, call the Clerk of Court in Caddo parish at 226-6788 for dates, times, and fees.
2) Check your current voter registration information at caddovoter.org. Just click on “Am I Registered?” and make sure that your address, party, and district info is what you think it should be. The new Shreveport City Council districts and School Board districts have been updated.
3) Plan on qualifying on one of the first two days of qualifying. In case you do have a problem then, you can get the problem solved before qualifying ends; however, if you check your info now or call the Registrar’s office at 226-6891 for your current address, part,y and district info then, you should not have a problem.

All Louisiana voters are required by state law to use their Homestead Exemption address for voter registration if they have a Homestead Exemption.

Shreveport City Council Registration – New Redistricted Districts

The numbers are now officially in the computer for the newly redistricted Shreveport City Council Districts.  About 11,000 voters of the 128,000+ city voters have seen a change in their district.  The changes were made by the Shreveport City Council.

Starting in late June, new voter information cards will be sent to ONLY the voters who have had changes in their districts.

Here are the demographic breakdowns for each district:

MAY IS CADDO PARISH VOTER REGISTRATION MONTH

The Caddo Parish Registrar of Voters will celebrate May as Voter Registration Month.
Ernie Roberson, Caddo Registrar, stated that this is the 24th year for mobile voter registration in the parish. “For many years Caddo has led the state in the number of voter registration sites, and we will be partnering with the Shreve Memorial Library branches to have voter registration available throughout the parish again this year,” Roberson commented.
 
Roberson also stated that the Registrar’s website, caddovoter.org, as well as local media ads, will be used for advertising the sites for registration. “The support of the Caddo Parish Commission makes this effort possible, and they encourage us to make every effort to have voter registration accessible to all of our citizens,” Roberson added.
